well the box set would most likely include x dollars worth of AP in it.

Will people really buy it though? I dunno unless buying the disk gives you some sort of promo code for a well promo item xD

There's a couple benefits to buying a boxed set of an online game, free or otherwise.

One is, you don't have to wait for the inital client download. For some people, that alone may be worth the purchase of the disc.

There are also usually box-oriented store incentives, like free AP, promotion codes for exclusive items, etc.

There's also the collector's incentive, just owning a hardcopy may have value long after the franchise has moved on.

It wouldn't be very reasonable to expect people who already play Imagine to get it, of course, but for people who say, don't go around the internet a ton, but <3 SMT, and just happen to see it in say, GameStop or something, it'd be pretty appealing, don't you think? Very Happy

As an avid SMT collector I'll certainly pick one up myself ^^

I see this as a great way to expand our player base. With more players comes more demand for faster updates (at least we can hope <_<) and new content from CAVE. Ignore the naysayers when they get all gloom and doom about the game dying, especially when j-server has The Second Wave starting in December... most of the people who quit seem to think the server won't go on without them, therefore OMG TEH GAEM IZ DAED!!!1one

I think in general it is a good idea to sell the game in store since it will obviously attract more players to the game. Even if some don't pick up and buy the box set they will see the Aeria logo and the game so they can easily check the site out for themselves.

I do have a few questions xD

1.Will a Mac version be sold in store as well? (eliminate the need for cross over games)
2.Has a price range already been decided for the boxed set?
3.Will the boxed set be released in Europe/Australia or any other region outside of America?
4.Will Aeria also be selling the boxed set on Amazon?

If it does get released outside of the US I'll probably pick it up for the SMT collector that's in me Razz
